Becoming an Assessor
Allied health professionals and registered nurses can assess for, and select equipment and home modifications relevant to their discipline for eligible clients. It is expected that individual assessors adhere to their professional conduct and only complete assessments and recommendations for items within their skills and scope of practice.
Different equipment and home modification types may only be prescribed by approved disciplines. This information can be found in the DHS Equipment Program Equipment In-Scope List (XLSX 102.8 KB)and the Home Modifications In Scope List (XLS 277.0 KB).
There is no registration process for assessors. All requests completed by assessors are sent to DES for consideration.
