Domiciliary Equipment Service

Training

The Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) Equipment Program currently offers a training program for allied health professionals and those seeking to build skills in the selection of equipment and provision of home modifications.

The trainers are allied health professionals from within DCSI and Novita Children's Services' clinical services who have expertise, hands-on experience and knowledge in the topics delivered.

This training can be accessed by any person who prescribes on behalf of the DCSI Equipment Program. Training registrations are managed by Domiciliary Equipment Service (DES) through a training coordinator and administrative support officers. Each service has a key training contact who coordinates and  forwards registrations to DES. Further details on registering and external prescriber training key contacts can be found here:

Please note that registrations are closed 1 week prior to the training date. Whilst late registrations for sessions may be accepted, if the session is full then we will not be able to accommodate these. Likewise, if the session is under-booked at that point, the session may be cancelled.

It is an expectation that all DCSI Equipment Service prescribers attend the Orientation to DES and the DCSI Equipment Services Session prior to accessing any clinical training.

Other agencies seeking training opportunities for their staff wishing to access the program should contact the DCSI Equipment Program Training Coordinator at DES for more information.

General enquiries about training can be forwarded to equipment.training@sa.gov.au.
